The Outstanding Contribution to Public Health Award
Winner: Prof John Moxham, Director of Value Based Healthcare for King's Health Partners
John is the Director of Value Based Healthcare for King's Health Partners. His impressive career spans nearly 50 years and he will retire later this year.
John undertook his medical training at University College Hospital, qualifying in 1973. His clinical training in general and respiratory medicine included positions at University College Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital and Brompton Hospital. John has been a leader within the London health system, having influenced regional and national policy, including campaigning for the integration of mental and physical healthcare.
John has been passionate about improving health outcomes for local people throughout his career. More recently John has spearheaded work on the development of the Vital Five. He believes that reducing obesity, smoking, harmful drinking, controlling blood pressure, and identifying and improving poor mental health would strengthen multiple care pathways and massively increase value.
He was a member of the Lambeth CCG Governing Body for a number of years and we remember fondly his contribution and lively debates.
John has made such a memorable impact and his unique style, wisdom, kindness and friendship will be missed when he retires later this year.
