The Outstanding Contribution to Primary Care Award
Winner: Anne Macrae, Retired Practice Nurse, Herne Hill Group Practice
Anne has spent an amazing 45 years nursing in the NHS, the last 21 of which was at Herne Hill Group Practice. She retired in late July this year.
In the past 5 years Anne has also taken on a lead nurse role for Lambeth CCG. Her interests have been in student supervision and mentorship and she has supported our 100 strong practice nurse workforce to take on the mentorship role so that Lambeth has the greatest number of mentors of all the SEL CCGs.
As part of her work, Anne has organised bimonthly Practice Nurse Forums providing an opportunity for nurses to come together, share best practice and support each other.
Anne has made such a memorable contribution through nursing leadership and her nominees said she has done so with integrity, humour, compassion and dedication.
Anne was on holiday during the ceremony so her colleagues Paula Marsden and Louise Ashwood accepted the award on her behalf. They said: "We are honoured to collect this award for Anne. It has been such a pleasure to work with her and we look forward to giving her the award when she's back. She will be so pleased."
