NHS Health Help Now app launched in Lambeth

NHS Lambeth Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has launched a new mobile and online service to help people in Lambeth understand where they should go for treatment, especially when they need health care in a hurry or late at night or at the weekend.

The Health Help Now app for smartphones and tablets can be downloaded by searching ‘Health Help Now’ in your Apple or Android app store. The free tool, which is also available online at , helps people check their symptoms and find the best place for treatment – showing which nearby services are open.  Importantly, it will help people to know when to go to A&E, and when not to.

The app helps users by breaking down symptoms by age group – baby, child, teenager, adult and older adult - making it easier for people to find the right treatment for them.  Health Help Now also offers advice – such as where to buy children’s medication when pharmacies are closed – and details of other useful helplines and websites.

The downloadable app also has a health wallet to help people take control of their healthcare. You can keep notes about important things you need to ask your doctor, nurse or pharmacist and see all your health appointments or contacts at a glance.

Dr Adrian McLachlan, Chair of NHS Lambeth CCG, said: “The Health Help Now app is a really useful tool for local residents to find the best NHS service to meet their needs anywhere in Lambeth.

“No matter where you are in the borough, if you need health help and advice in a hurry, late at night or at the weekend, the app will quickly direct you to the most appropriate place nearby, so you can be confident that you’re getting the right help.”

“I recommend that everyone who lives or works in Lambeth download it so they have it ready if they need it, whether they are at home, work or out and about.”
