GP appointments and pharmacies available over 2018 August Bank holiday weekend
London is the first region to be able to offer routine GP appointments to all registered patients in the evening, at the weekend and over bank holidays. This is part of the extended access scheme, which aims to improve access to health services in the capital.
Lambeth residents are advised to remember to make sure your repeat prescriptions will cover you for the bank holiday period. If you need to visit a pharmacy over the bank holiday, you can see a list of open pharmacies here: Lambeth-List-of-Pharmacies-Open-on-August-Bank-Holiday.pdf.
Alternatively use the NHS Choices 'Find a pharmacy service' here.
Improving access to GP services is one of the highest priorities for the NHS and this increased availability of appointments makes sure people across London will have access to the right service at the right time over Bank Holiday. Londoners can book evening and weekend appointments by calling their GP practice or NHS 111 when their own practice is closed.
Those with more urgent medical issues can also call NHS 111 to speak with a fully trained adviser, 24 hours a day, who can connect them to a nurse, emergency dentist or a GP and can arrange face-to-face appointments.
