Dr Martin Godfrey elected to Governing Body

The membership of our Governing Body includes several elected clinical representatives. NHS Lambeth CCG currently has seven of these positions on its Governing Body – a Clinical Chair and six representatives, two from each of our three localities within the borough of Lambeth.

Member practices have recently been voting for the South West Locality representative vacancy on the Governing Body. Practices have elected Dr Martin Godfrey, who will join Dr Paul Heenan in serving as a South West Locality elected representative.

Martin has worked at Streatham High Practice since 2005. As well as working as a practising GP, Martin has worked in the world of medical education creating educational programmes for doctors, nurses and pharmacists both in the UK and the US.

Martin will replace Dr Hasnain Abbasi who will leave the governing body at the end of January. We wish Hasnain all the very best for the future and thank him for his considerable work on the governing body, most notably his contribution to the Prime Minister's Challenge Fund and as Chair of our Primary Care Programme.

We also have several members on the Governing Body who are recruited.  These are the two Lay Members, a Registered Nurse and a Secondary Care Doctor.
