There are 6.5million carers in the UK of which three in four don't feel their caring role is understood or valued by their community. As part of Carers Week (6-12 June), Carers Hub Lambeth is hosting a forum for carers on 9 June. Carers Week is an annual awareness campaign to celebrate and recognise the vital contribution made by carers. Carers are anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who could not cope without their support due to illness, disability, mental health problem or addictions.
The free event is an opportunity to find out about the services and support available in Lambeth. Come along for a cup of tea and chat to the team from Carers Hub Lambeth. Carers of all ages are welcome to come along on 9 June between 10am and 3pm to The Foundry, 17 Oval Way, London SE11 5RR.
Carers Hub Lambeth is a charity offering services to anyone who provides unpaid care and support, either living in Lambeth or caring for someone in Lambeth. They offer advice, information, emotional support, support groups and events. There is also a specialist team for young carers (anyone with a caring role who is under 18) and specialist workers for carers of someone with a mental illness and those with a learning disability.
