Our Involving People Strategy

We have refreshed our approach to involving local people to bring us up to date with recent developments in health and care and in response to new statutory guidance.  Our Governing Body approved our new Involving People Strategy in May 2018. Thank you to everyone for supporting us to assess our performance against NHS England's ten 'Must dos' for commissioners, to review our principles and agree our priorities for involving people over the next few years.

This Involving People Strategy confirms our continuing commitment to collaborative ways of working with local people and stakeholders and describes how engagement will support us in realising our CCG mission.

We set out three overarching priorities for our work to involve people in our business:

Collaboration: we will promote and support joined up practice in involving local people and stakeholders in our joint work with partner agencies in Lambeth and beyond

Focus: we will sharpen the focus of our engagement, identifying target groups at all levels in our programme planning and providing clear opportunities for people to be involved in difficult discussions and decisions

Diversity: our engagement will support us to reduce inequalities in health in Lambeth

We have set out a detailed plan for our work in these areas, and will be keeping this under review through our Engagement, Equalities and Communications Committee, which meets quarterly and whose membership includes one of our lay members, Healthwatch and representatives of Lambeth patient and community groups, as well as Lambeth Council.
