GP Information Management and Technology

NEL Commissioning Support Unit provides GP IT Service to all GP practices in Lambeth, which include the following:

• IT service desk and on-site support;
• Infrastructure services;
• NHS mail account management;
• Training and facilitation;
• Clinical system provision support;
• Registration Authority governance and NHS Smartcard management;
• Project management;
• Information Governance advice.

The GP IT Facilitation Service in Lambeth provides support and training on a number digital areas such as data quality, national Spine applications (including e-Prescribing, e-Referrals, GP2GP) and information governance.
Each year, the facilitator completes a digital maturity work plan with every practice to identify support needs in the practice and build a bespoke work package between the practice and their facilitator. The facilitator visits Lambeth GP practices regularly to provide support, updates, and deliver training for staff as agreed in line with the GP practice digital work plan.
