Walk in Centre review

We're currently reviewing the provision of GP services in Lambeth and we're looking closely at the NHS Walk in Centre at Gracefield Gardens.

We have been looking at four options and the one we are minded to take is to close the NHS Walk in Centre. We will be taking a decision at our Governing Body meeting in January but before then, we want to hear your views, as well as those of others working in your practice and from your patients.

You can find out more about the review on our public facing Walk in Centre page on our website.

We have a number of ways to provide feedback, and would like to support you to get your staff and patients involved.

  • You, staff and patients can give your views by:
  • We have prepared an article for you to put on your surgery website (see below) which links to the online survey, leaflet, review summary and a full review report
  • We have produced a leaflet for you to share with patients which includes details of ways people can make their voice heard. We'll be delivering these to your practice soon, along with a printed survey, but you can also click and download the electronic versions below
  • You may want to use a forthcoming Patient Participation Group meeting to discuss this review and provide feedback  - please let us know if you plan to do this, and if you'd like someone from the CCG to attend: email

Here's the article for your website:

Review of GP services in Lambeth, including NHS Walk in Centre at Gracefield Gardens

NHS Lambeth Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is committed to providing Lambeth people with high quality GP services at flexible times and for urgent and non-urgent issues that can be dealt with by a GP or nurse.

Lambeth people have said they want GP services that are more accessible, more equitable, more fairly distributed and that use NHS resources wisely. Opening new GP Access Hubs in 2015 was an important step for the CCG to deliver what people need.

However, a review of GP services by the CCG has shown not all of the appointments in the hubs are being taken up and they have the capacity to see patients who are currently using the NHS Walk in Centre. One of Lambeth's GP Access Hubs is in the same building as the Walk in Centre in Gracefield Gardens, so the CCG is considering closing the Walk in Centre.

The CCG has been looking at four options and is continuing to gather views from patients and stakeholders to inform their decision.

You can find out more about the review on the CCG website.
