Transforming primary care in Lambeth

Primary care services,  and particularly local GP surgeries, are most often the first point of contact in the healthcare system for local residents.  From the 1 April 2015 NHS Lambeth Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), along with the other CCGs in south east London  (Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lewisham and Southwark) has taken greater responsibility and involvement in the design, shaping and commissioning of local general practices, in a joint commissioning arrangement with NHS England.
This new arrangement will allow us to work more closely with NHS England,  who are responsible for securing the provision of general practice and will support our local plans to improve primary care services in the borough.
This joint approach is referred to as the Co-commissioning of Primary Care and we will now begin meeting regularly in a joint committee to consider and take decisions on local services together.
The joint committee meetings will be held in public and the first of these will be as follows:

Meeting of South East London’s Primary Care Joint Committees  6pm to 8.30pm, 11 June 2015

South Bank Suite, Coin Street Conference Centre
108 Stamford Street
South Bank
(Near Waterloo and Southwark Tube stations and Waterloo East British Rail)
Members of the public are warmly invited to attend these meetings and can submit questions in advance.
Please submit questions in advance by emailing stating which agenda item it refers to, by midday on 10 June 2015.
