Most of our GP services in Lambeth are planned and paid for at a national and regional level by NHS England. In 2015 we took up the opportunity to co-commission some local GP services, jointly with NHS England, and in Lambeth we now manage some of our local GP provision. We are considering whether we should take on full delegated responsibility for GP commissioning from April 2017.

Delegated responsibilities would include designing, issuing and removing GP contracts; designing enhanced local services to be delivered in GP practices; designing local incentive schemes and approving practice mergers.

NHS England would remain responsible for pay, complaints, holding registers and commissioning local dental, pharmacy and eye health services.

We would like to discuss with patients and local people what this might mean. To inform our plans we want to speak to people who live in Lambeth and who are registered with a Lambeth GP practice.

Come along to hear our ideas for the future of primary care - GP - services in Lambeth. Hear about the potential advantages and disadvantages of assuming full delegated responsibility for our GP services. Put your questions to our commissioning leaders.

Light refreshments will be provided. We look forward to seeing you.
