Liz has worked at the practice for the past 25 years and is planning to retire next year.  During that time, and under her leadership, the practice has grown from a few thousand patients to over 16,500. Liz helped to oversee the merger of two practices in 2008 to ensure that the patients from both practices could continue to receive a high quality service. As one of a new team of seven partners, she built a practice culture of patient-focused, compassionate care, with good continuity of care. Liz also believes in a good work-life balance for the team so that we are equipped to offer the best possible care for our patients.

Her priority is always her patients.   She works many additional hours each week and has done so for many years, concentrating on clinical systems at the practice to ensure we deliver high standard care. Her legacy is the importance of a strong work ethic, along with a friendly, familiar face and continuity of care for patients when facing illness.  Despite ever changing demands and challenges the ethos of the practice is focused on this.

Even in the last few years as our patient list size and demand has grown, Liz has driven forward the implementation of a ‘usual doctor’ system for our most at-risk patients to ensure that our most vulnerable individuals receive our focus. This includes the introduction of a system that protects time for doctors to carry out routine home visits so that our elderly and frail patients cannot be missed when the practice gets busy during peak season.

Liz’s adaptability has made her a great leader in our practice over the years. In recent years, as the focus has moved towards innovation in technology, she worked with the partners to recruit Grant, our in-house IT Lead. Liz and Grant have worked tirelessly to improve IT systems. Some of their achievements include:
  • Introducing online patient registration forms
  • Promotion and high uptake of online patient services (from an early stage)
  • Development of EMIS templates and protocols for medicines, integrated care and other schemes.
  • Working with Optimise-RX to trial new prescribing software for Lambeth.

She has been involved in the Medicine Management team for many years, contributing to local prescribing policy and the medicines optimisation scheme.  Liz has driven the use of script switch in the practice and across Lambeth to ensure that we prescribe safely, but in a cost effective manner."
