Lead nurse team

The lead nurse team are current practitioners who work up to 6 hours each a week to provide leadership to the general practice nursing workforce in Lambeth. Our team approach is unique and while we have an overarching aim – to ensure that we offer a quality, safe nursing service to our patients – we all have our own areas of responsibility which ensures we are able to cover all aspects of the workforce.

We also try to ensure that Lambeth nurses are represented at CCG, Lambeth Southwark and Lewisham, south London, London-wide and national levels by attending a variety of meetings throughout the year.

Our role in the localities

The locality leads are responsible for visiting nurses and HCAs new to Lambeth to establish training and support needs.  For this reason, we ask all practices to keep us up to date with staff changes – departures and arrivals - so that we can maintain an up to date database. We are the first port of call for queries within our locality

We recently published a framework covering recommendations for pay, terms and conditions for new practice nurses in Lambeth. This came about as we were frequently asked by Practice managers and GPs about rates of pay for newly recruited nurses
